Get to know various aspects of the life of Polish Diaspora in Latin American countries. Find out how Polish diaspora formed there. On 27th and 28th October there is an international academic conference at the Emigration Museum. Its participants come from Poland, Brazil, Argentina and the USA.
The conference Poles and Polish Diaspora in Latin America: past and present opens a series of academic events at the Emigration Museum. They will be devoted to emigration from the territories of Poland as well as various Polish communities which function in various parts of the world. Its goal is to provide an opportunity for researches who specialise in the subjects connected with the Latin America’s Polish diaspora to meet, exchange views and take part in an interdisciplinary debate. Experts from Poland, Brazil, Argentina and the USA shall take part in it.
The conference was divided into several thematic sessions, like Historic aspects of Polish presence in Latin America, Poles’ input into the social and cultural development of the countries of Latin America, Literary aspects of Polish presence in Latin America or Language and identity of the Polish communities in Latin American countries.The event will be held under an honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. TVP Polonia is the media patron of the conference.
The admission to all the events is free. The lectures will also be broadcast online. Foreign lectures will be interpreted into Polish. As the number of devices is limited, the matter will be handled on a first come first served basis.
