The days are getting longer, the sun is shining stronger, and kids are getting increasingly restless at home. How to provide children of all ages with a successful and useful May Break? The Emigration Museum in Gdynia has “An Idea for the May Break” everyone can use.

Among the many attractions we have prepared for you on May 2 at the Experyment Science Center, there is an instrument manufacturing workshop which combines exciting entertainment with intellectual gymnastics and the deepening of our sensitivity to the sounds around us. They will be conducted by the musicians of Małe Instrumenty band [Eng. Little Instruments – trans.]. We encourage entire families to learn, try, and create with us! Everyone will have a chance to construct their own unique super-instrument, but keep in mind that the capacity of this free workshop is limited! The extraordinary experimental artists from Małe Instrumenty will also perform a concert in the evening.

We have prepared more workshops for you on May 2. Have you ever dreamt of being a music producer or working at a music studio? You will have a unique chance to test your skills at recording and editing sound in a professional way. Technology geeks and – quite possibly – brilliant future constructors will have something coming their way as well. We will lay out the rules of basic mechanics and electronics, which have never been so simple thanks to the unique robot construction system – Lo Fi Robot. Artistic souls will also enjoy this day as we have prepared a pin designing workshop for them.

There will be no shortage of scientific presentations and experiments in the field of astronomy, physics, chemistry, and biology, illustrated with examples of molecular kitchen and more. We have also prepared several film screenings, lectures, and an urban game – all devoted to the distinguished minds of Polish science who lived and worked abroad – Nobel prize winner – Maria Skłodowska-Curie, pioneer of cinematography – Kazimierz Prószyński, grandfather of modern electronics – Jan Czochralski, and word-famous astronomer – Aleksander Wolszczan.
