You are warmly invited to the first edition of the scientific conference 'Science and Education for Sustainable Development’ organised by the Centre for Sustainable Development at the University of Gdansk on 24 and 25 November. We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the schedule of the entire event, which brings together academics and researchers from all over the world.
The first day (24 November) consists of expert panels taking place at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Gdansk. The discussions will be divided into four areas: ’Climate change: energy transition’, ’Migration, health and sustainable development’, ’Humanities facing the challenges of the climate crisis’ and ’Transformation of higher education institutions towards sustainable development’. On this day, students and young researchers will also have the opportunity for face-to-face discussions with experts in four ’round table’ sessions.
On the following day of the conference (25 November), the debate on education and sustainable development will move to the Emigration Museum building. During two discussions, the topic of sustainable development in Poland will be taken under the spotlight. After the panels, participants will be invited for a tour of the Museum.
„We will focus our attention on research results, social initiatives to help the vulnerable and people in need, as well as infrastructure projects that will lead to a lower carbon footprint at universities and in the wider economy.” – says Director of the UG Centre for Sustainable Development, dr Krzysztof Szczepaniak.
