Information for people with disabilities
Accessibility
We make every effort to ensure that all visitors feel good at the Museum. To this end, we organise events corresponding to different needs of recipients and gradually introduce services and tools that build the accessibility of the permanent exhibition and collections.
The need for support, e.g. assistance, may be reported to the Museum employees before and during the visit. We encourage you to order services to increase accessibility as early as booking your visit.

Permanent exhibition
The entire exhibition is accessible to visitors in wheelchairs (except the railcar symbolizing the so-called repatriations from the East).
Multimedia screens have the function of adjusting the font size to the needs of visually impaired persons. The background contrast is set automatically. In addition, the screens located inside the generally accessible “Globus” installation at the beginning of the exhibition have video materials translated into the sign language.
All elements of the Core Exhibition can be freely touched, except for exhibits in display cases. In the middle of the exhibition (behind the room devoted to World War II) are toilets adapted to the needs of people with motor disabilities. A first-aid kit may be found at the end of the corridor, next to the toilet.
Individual parts of the permanent exhibition are highly diversified in terms of colour, lighting and sound intensity. Some rooms have loud background noises, which aim at imitating travel conditions, e.g. on a busy street. In several places, films are screened on the walls, often highly contrasting with dark façades. Some of the lighting may be too poor for visually impaired persons.
